A slightly damp day on Pen Yr Ole Wen today with Carol, Lizzie, Tim and Phil as part of our two day Mountain Leader Refresher. We looked at navigation, leadership, environment and steep ground.
A brilliant day to round off a wonderful week. We all headed up Curved Ridge on Buachaille Etive Mor, enjoying dry rock, light winds and soft autumnal light. Wonderful - thanks very much Rach, Fliss, Nick and John.
A perfect day on Tower Ridge. We’ve had blue skies, sunshine, dry rock and the route virtually to ourselves as we enjoyed what is possibly the best mountaineering route on mainland UK. There’s nowhere better than Scotland when it’s as good as this.
Steall Falls provided the audio track today as we traversed Meall Cumhann from Glen Nevis. This is a lovely grade 3 scramble that works well to avoid high summit winds and is in a truly stunning setting. We had some magical colours and dry rock too. Ace!
We could hear the echo of Stags bellowing as we traversed the Aonach Eagach in Glen Coe today. The cloud only added to the atmosphere and we enjoyed dry rock and no wind. We’ve been joined by Rachel, Fliss, John and Nick for our Glencoe Scrambling Week and today was a lovely start.
