Blue skies, sunshine and warm rock - another day in paradise. We headed to Holyhead Mountain today where the boys got on the sharp end of the rope, leading some single pitch and a multi pitch trad route. Excellent ๐๐
A stunning day of climbing on the coast today with Sam and Gavin. We went sport climbing to get them leading - single pitch this morning and multi pitch with abseil off this afternoon. Ace!
I’m out with Sam and Gavin this week on our 5 day learn to lead climbing course. We kicked off today on the Idwal Slabs - is there any better location for introducing people to multi pitch climbing? It’s been warm and sunny too - perfect ๐
An expedition of two halves - we headed into the Moelwyns for our overnight camp with the ML Trainees. It was gorgeous and sunny yesterday, less so today ๐
We’ve had a damp and breezy day today which we’ve spent looking at managing the hazards of steep ground on our Mountain Leader training course. Lots of good input from the team and another really enjoyable day.
The second day of our Mountain Leader training course saw us enjoy a Quality Mountain Day on Y Garn and Foel Goch with some ideal low clouds but light wind. Mega!
We’re running a Mountain Leader Training course this week. It’s always ace to be out with people at the start of their leadership journey in the mountains and the course has such a great syllabus. We kicked the week off with a circuit in the Carneddau with a return to more normal weather conditions for April ๐
Manon and I headed up Idwal Buttress onto Idwal Staircase and then onto the Cneifion Arรชte today. We shared the leads, soaking up the sun and revelling in the dry rock once more. What a week. Thanks very much to everyone we have shared it with. Mega!
