Cold on Llyn Tegid

Image
It felt pretty chilly on Llyn Tegid today as I sailed to the Southern shore and back. The wind was perfect but I could have done with some sunshine!

Through the Swellies

We’ve had a rare, calm day with lighter winds. I trailered my Wanderer dinghy over to Felinheli and launched into the Menai Strait. I used the last of the flood tide to pass through the Swellies to Menai Bridge for a brew before returning on the ebb. Lovely to be out.

Navigation Skills

Image
Rach has joined me for a couple of days to do some navigation prep in readiness for winter. It’s been damp today but that’s no bad thing for what we wanted. Some lovely muted colours to enjoy between showers.

Sail and Fly

Image
At this time of year we don’t get many calm days, so when we do it’s nice to be able to make the most of them. On Tuesday I got up early and sailed from home in my dinghy, leaving at 7:00am and sailing in the dark to Beaumaris. I arrived for sunrise which wasn’t as spectacular as I’d hoped! After a brew I sailed home in some lovely sunshine and enjoyed a hike and fly on Moel Wnion. It was the first time I’d sailed in the dark and a nice bit of progression towards some more multi activity adventures.

Stormy scrambling

Image
We’ve had a bit of weather to avoid but it’s been great to catch up with Andy for some scrambling. Thanks Andy 😀👍  https://www.expeditionguide.com/advanced-scrambling-course-snowdonia/
