Creag Meghaidh

Spring is a wonderful time in the mountains. Often we get the best of what we like about winter mountaineering without many of the downsides. Sophie and I strolled into Creag Meagaidh in warm sunshine and unhindered by snow on the path and without the need for coat and gloves. Once up against the cliffs our ascent up Easy Gully gave a most enjoyable journey on firmly frozen snow and amongst wonderful ice formations. The climb complete, there was none of the running away in the teeth of gale as is so often the case and we were able to enjoy a lengthy lunch and a lounge in sunshine. With climbing gear packed away an amble along the top of the cliff took us to The Window from where we followed the well made path back to the glen.
