Navigation Skills

 We’ve had a wild day in the Highlands. Emma and I stayed low and looked at navigation skills in preparation for her HML Assessment. Freezing levels rose above the summits and are forecast to drop back down tonight. This should improve conditions for the rest of the week and the last photo shows the Ben late afternoon - there’s plenty of snow left to refreeze. Tomorrow looks windy but good again after that.

Congratulations to Tom and Laura who have rounded off a fine week on Skye with a two day traverse of the Cuillin Ridge with Huw. They did every summit and all of the climbs with a chilly bivvy on Thursday night - a fantastic achievement on the greatest mountaineering expedition in the UK.

Teaching winter mountaineering today with Fabio and Mark. It’s been a bit more blustery than of late so we stayed lower and got them on the sharp end in ascent and descent.
