Kleppstadhella
Today saw us climbing Kleppstadhella in some variable Arctic weather. We had lovely sunshine, rain, snow, wind and calms all mixed with a considerable avalanche hazard. The views were all the more stunning when they arrived and it was interesting to have a look at the persistent weak layer that’s been sitting in the bottom of the snowpack for some time now. We rounded the day off with a cafe stop in Henningsvaer, somewhere I last visited about 20 years ago and it was lovely to see it as pretty as I remembered.
