Gruben to Tasch

 Walkers Haute Route | Week Two | Day Four | Gruben to Täsch. It’s been a day of atmospheric clouds and rain so my photographic offerings have a theme! We had to take a low level route today, avoiding the bad weather up high, which involved a bus, cable car and two trains. The valley walk that followed was still beautiful, with some fresh snow being glimpsed on the tops and the first hints that perhaps this long and idyllic summer we’ve had is nearing a close.

Congratulations to Tom and Laura who have rounded off a fine week on Skye with a two day traverse of the Cuillin Ridge with Huw. They did every summit and all of the climbs with a chilly bivvy on Thursday night - a fantastic achievement on the greatest mountaineering expedition in the UK.

Teaching winter mountaineering today with Fabio and Mark. It’s been a bit more blustery than of late so we stayed lower and got them on the sharp end in ascent and descent.
