Hazards of steep ground

Mountain Leaders are qualified to lead others in the mountains of the UK & Ireland which may contain unavoidable steep and rocky terrain. Our day was predominantly spent looking at how we look after those in our care on this type of ground. We headed to Tryfan as the wealth of rocky terrain that it provides is perfect for training on this aspect of the syllabus - and of course it gives a lovely day out too. It has been a beautiful autumnal day with far reaching views and sunshine and we've had some great discussions, lots of practical hands on application and of course some lovely movement. Another cracking day!

Cuillin Ridge Traverse

Congratulations to Tom and Laura who have rounded off a fine week on Skye with a two day traverse of the Cuillin Ridge with Huw. They did every summit and all of the climbs with a chilly bivvy on Thursday night - a fantastic achievement on the greatest mountaineering expedition in the UK.
