Glencoe Snow

 So much snow! I’m out with Emma this week and we kicked off with a traverse of Stob Coire Nan Lochain today, figuring it was best to be on the ridges with all this snow. It was a proper burly day and ace to be out. We watched a natural avalanche release out of SC Gully, big enough to look exciting and make us glad not to be in it! It really didn’t stop snowing all day. We’ve got some freeze/thaw action over the next couple of days which is exactly what is needed.

Congratulations to Tom and Laura who have rounded off a fine week on Skye with a two day traverse of the Cuillin Ridge with Huw. They did every summit and all of the climbs with a chilly bivvy on Thursday night - a fantastic achievement on the greatest mountaineering expedition in the UK.

Teaching winter mountaineering today with Fabio and Mark. It’s been a bit more blustery than of late so we stayed lower and got them on the sharp end in ascent and descent.
