Ledge Route

 Ledge Route, Ben Nevis | Emma and I have had a mega day on Ledge Route today. The last couple of days have been stormy and warm but temperatures fell overnight and this has improved mountaineering conditions massively. There was fresh snow down to about 500m and the old snowpack has survived well - this is great news for the rest of the winter! It was snowing most of the day so we had another proper winter mountaineering day out and broke trail all the way up. Nice job Emma!

Congratulations to Tom and Laura who have rounded off a fine week on Skye with a two day traverse of the Cuillin Ridge with Huw. They did every summit and all of the climbs with a chilly bivvy on Thursday night - a fantastic achievement on the greatest mountaineering expedition in the UK.

Teaching winter mountaineering today with Fabio and Mark. It’s been a bit more blustery than of late so we stayed lower and got them on the sharp end in ascent and descent.
